12:26 AM

Have you ever wanted to give a clever name to the Windows Recycle Bin? Here's how to rename the Recycle Bin using the Windows Registry Editor.

Step 1: Go to START and click Run

Step 2: Type regedit and hit enter to open the Registry Editor

Step 3: Find the following location:

+HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT  (Click the plus sign on the left)

+CLSID  (Click the plus sign on the left)

+{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}  (Click the plus sign on the left)

Step 4: Double click LocalizedString

Step 5: Enter your desired name for the Recycle Bin into the empty space called 'Value Data'. When you have entered what you would like click 'OK'.

Step 6: Close the Registry Editor.

Tips:
Make sure to backup a copy of your registry before editing any registry entries. To do so, go to FILE and click Export... under the Registry Editor window.
